e-Builder Announces 2019 Winners of the “Innovators in Construction” Award
OCTOBER 3, 2019—FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.-- e-Builder, a Trimble Company, and a leading SaaS-based construction program management solution for capital project owners and program management firms, has announced the winners of the company’s “Innovators in Construction” award for 2019. The Pittsburgh Water & Sewer Authority was recognized in the Public Infrastructure category and Northeastern University in the Private Building category. Teams from both were presented with their award at e-Builder’s Annual User Conference, Elevate. This conference is the largest owner conference in North America that every year brings together more than 400 innovators in construction technology to advance their skills and network with industry thought-leaders.
The Innovators in Construction award recognizes owner organizations that demonstrate excellence in the use of technology to drive substantial building project development that ultimately gives back to the community.
Pittsburgh Water & Sewer Authority is one of the largest sewer, water and storm water utilities in Pennsylvania, with a CIP budget of over $100 million per year and serving over 300,000 residents. Their team uses e-Builder across all projects, ensuring transparency, accountability and collaboration across the entire engineering department. PWSA is also working on a major lead service line replacement program and stated that the use of e-Builder has allowed them to streamline reimbursement to consumers which has enabled them to replace additional service lines, despite limited funding.

Founded in 1898, with an enrollment of almost 14,000 students, Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts executes roughly 280 capital projects per year, ranging in cost from $20,000 to $400M. The university uses e-Builder to deliver those projects more efficiently, on budget, and to provide transparency and collaboration. The team noted that using e-Builder has allowed them to be good stewards of the University’s resources by delivering capital projects on time and on budget.
